Shaping PNG's aviation
future, one intern at a time.
Heli Solutions Limited is embarking on an Internship Program targeted at fresh graduates from the PNG University of Technology and Aiyura Aircraft Maintenance Engineering School.
It intends to mold and develop young talent that can contribute meaningfully to the organisation's overall objectives in the aviation industry — building a stronger, more capable national workforce from within.
Immersive. Supervised.
Professional.
The internship program requires graduates to undertake an immersive 6-week assignment within the organisation. Interns are closely supervised by well-experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME) in the aviation industry.
The Chief Engineer provides weekly briefings and tasks interns on a daily basis — giving each graduate structured, hands-on exposure to real-world aviation maintenance, operations, and safety standards.
Program Structure
A structured 6-week journey through Heli Solutions' operations — giving every intern the tools, exposure, and mentorship needed to launch a career in PNG aviation.
Orientation & Induction
Introduction to Heli Solutions' culture, safety policies, organisational structure, and operations. Interns receive briefings from the Chief Engineer and are assigned to their supervising LAME.
Workshop & Maintenance Observation
Hands-on observation and guided participation in aircraft maintenance procedures — covering daily checks, component inspections, and airworthiness documentation under LAME supervision.
Technical Procedures & Standards
Deep-dive into CASA maintenance standards, technical documentation, quality assurance procedures, and ISO compliance requirements as applied across the Heli Solutions fleet.
Operations Exposure

Supervised Practical Tasks
Interns take on supervised practical tasks under direct LAME guidance — applying classroom and workshop learning to real aircraft components, systems, and maintenance records.
Assessment & Completion
Final review and assessment by the Chief Engineer. Successful interns receive a certificate of completion from Heli Solutions Limited and are considered for future employment opportunities within the company.
Daily Tasking by Chief Engineer
Every intern receives structured daily task briefings directly from the Chief Engineer — ensuring purposeful, goal-oriented learning throughout the six-week program.
LAME Supervision
Each intern is closely supervised by a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer — providing expert mentorship and hands-on guidance in a real aviation environment.
