Who We Are
Heli Solutions Limited is a proudly Papua New Guinean helicopter company, founded on the dreams and determination of two young national aviators who believed that Papua New Guinea deserved a world-class, locally owned presence in the aviation industry. From the moment our first Bell 407 touched down at Jacksons Airport on 13th August 2011, we set out to prove that Papua New Guineans could not only participate in the aviation sector — but lead it.
What began as a small operation run from a leased 5×4 metre office space has grown into one of PNG’s most capable and respected helicopter operators. Today, Heli Solutions Limited maintains a permanent base at Kagamuga Airport in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands Province, with full air operations and maintenance facilities — and a second operations office in Gordons, Port Moresby.
Our Story
Heli Solutions was birthed from a passion for flying. Two young Papua New Guinean aviators, driven by an unshakeable belief in what was possible, turned their dream into reality and registered a company that would go on to become a significant player in PNG’s aviation landscape.
In the early days, resources were limited and the challenges were real. Operating in an industry long dominated by large expatriate companies, Heli Solutions chose a different path — one built on national pride, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality. We paid our way, built our team, and earned our place in the skies above Papua New Guinea.
Over thirteen years of continuous operations, the company has expanded its fleet, secured critical aviation certifications, established a permanent highland base, and assembled a team of highly experienced national and international aviation professionals. Each milestone has been a step toward our ultimate goal: to be the leading provider of quality helicopter services in Papua New Guinea.
Our Fleet
Heli Solutions currently operates a fleet of three certified helicopters, maintained to the highest CASA and ISO standards under our Maintenance Organisation Certificate 145/061.
Kawasaki BK117 B2 — A twin-engine, multi-purpose helicopter renowned for its versatility, reliability, and exceptional performance in PNG’s demanding highland and coastal environments. Ideal for emergency medical evacuation, VIP transport, cargo operations, and government programmes.
Bell 407 (P2-HSL) — Our founding aircraft, which first landed on Papua New Guinean soil on 13th August 2011. The Bell 407 remains a cornerstone of our fleet and a symbol of where this journey began — a single-engine powerhouse built for performance across PNG’s most remote terrain.
Bell 407 (P2-HSN) — Our second Bell 407, extending our charter, cargo, and survey capabilities across all 22 provinces. Like its sister aircraft, maintained to the highest airworthiness standards under our MOC certification.
Combined, our pilots hold over 42,000 hours of aviation experience in Papua New Guinea — a figure that speaks not just to technical proficiency, but to an intimate knowledge of PNG’s unique geography, weather patterns, and operational environment.

Safety — Our Core Commitment
At Heli Solutions Limited, safety is not a policy statement. It is a condition of employment, a daily practice, and the foundation upon which every single flight is planned and executed.
We operate with a goal of zero accidents. Every aircraft in our fleet is maintained to CASA standards under MOC 145/061. Every pilot operates under our Air Operator Certificate 119/061. Every engineer and support staff member is accountable for conforming to documented safety standards and procedures — without exception.
Our Safety Policy is built on total commitment to the highest standards of aircraft, crew, equipment, and maintenance — supported by a Safety Awareness Program that includes regular safety audits, a safety incentive scheme, and an emphasis on Aviation Decision Making and Risk Management embedded in all recurrency training.
No employee will knowingly participate in an unsafe act. Safety is not negotiable at Heli Solutions Limited.
Our People
Heli Solutions is only as strong as the people who make it fly. Our full-time pilots collectively hold more than 25,000 hours of flight experience, complemented by part-time pilots with an additional 17,000-plus hours — giving Heli Solutions a combined aviation experience base of over 42,000 hours in Papua New Guinea.
Our engineering and maintenance team comprises highly qualified professionals who are CASA mandated as fit and proper persons — responsible for ensuring every aircraft part and servicing procedure meets ISO and CASA safety standards before any aircraft leaves the ground.
Behind every flight is an operations team, a maintenance crew, ground staff, and management — all united by the same belief that Papua New Guineans can deliver world-class aviation services to their own country.
Corporate Values
Heli Solutions Limited is founded on honesty, commitment, dedication, and perseverance. These are not aspirational words — they are the values that carried our founders from humble beginnings to where the company stands today, and the principles that guide every decision made within the organisation.
We have a passion for excellence in delivering superior customer service, developing innovative solutions tailored to each client’s needs, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality, investing in the training and capacity building of our staff, and fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration in pursuit of common goals.
Looking Ahead
Heli Solutions is not standing still. We are actively working toward BARS Certification and ISO 9001:2015 quality certification — international standards that will further distinguish our operations and open new opportunities for growth.
Our phased expansion plans include progression into fixed-wing operations and the establishment of an aviation training capability — creating pathways for even more Papua New Guineans to enter and thrive in the aviation industry.
Through our Internship Program, we are already investing in the next generation — partnering with the PNG University of Technology and Aiyura Aircraft Maintenance Engineering School to give fresh graduates their first real foothold in professional aviation.
The goal of Heli Solutions Limited has always been clear: to become the leading provider of quality helicopter services in Papua New Guinea. That reputation will be earned — flight by flight, client by client, standard by standard — through the trust of those we serve and the respect of our peers and competitors.
We are Heli Solutions. We are Papua New Guinean. And we are just getting started.
